Deadline for Invest in Children Grant Applications for funding in 2009 has been extended to Aug 31, 2009. We are restructuring our review process and will be announcing awards in the fall of 2009. In the case of highly competitive applications, we will give priority to projects that include the involvement of retired volunteers in the proposed project. All applicants who have submitted applications by the previous deadline are welcome to revise and resubmit by the new August 31 deadline. We will consider the second application, if one is submitted.

The Merage Foundation for the American Dream held its fifth annual National Leadership Awards dinner at the National Press Club in Washington, DC on June 3 honoring its 2009 National Leadership Awardees as well as its 2009 American Dream Fellows.

The Merage Foundation for the American Dream’s compilation DVD containing all 9 films and accompanying educational materials in its American Dream DVD Series was distributed to over 36,000 teachers and students in classrooms across the country in the February 2008 editions of Scholastic’s Upfront®, ScholasticAction®, and Choices® magazines.
